In a time of growing flux we are blessed to come together in offering you this, the return of what the Guardian has called “a reminder of how vital and adventurous music can be” – the best thing about it is the people.

SISWÅ SUKRÅ

Traditional Indonesian music is made using an enormous array of tuned bells and percussion, called Gamelan. The expansive counter-playing of 15+ musicians floods the audience with a tonal mass that raises and lowers the emotional centre like a slow sonic tide. This Southbank Centre-devised group, based at the Royal Festival Hall delivers a repertoir ranging "from solemn court ritual to exuberant village celebration", and commands a dedicated and faithful representation of this ancient practice and tradition. We are thrilled and privileged to welcome this group in celebrating this culture with you.

URSULA RUSSELL

In a rare solo performance from the multi-instrumentalist staple of London's underground music scene, we see Ursula boldly setting vulnerable sentiment on solid groove, and as a friend of Peach puts it "she will make you shiver as you dance". The synth-led arrangements that evoke Kathy Acker and 70s New York frame the work that has travelled Europe. Though TRC regulars may recognise her first of all for her role as drummer in Blue House, or Fiction or Drop Out Venus, we are blessed to know there is even more, from this exceptional practitioner and artist.

ALABASTER DEPLUME

Following UK festivals, shows for the National Theatre and appearances in Europe, the saxophinst and spoken word performer's focus diverges around the return of this, his beloved development event. His players this month will include Kohhei Matsuda of psychedelic noise/metal band Bo Ningen, on electric guitar, alongside Ursula Russell and members of Siswa Sukra. This monthly Peach concert is the platform where he combines communities in developing the work, described as “Totally unique… Very, very brilliant indeed” on Radio 3 recently. His 4th album, developed here at Peach, will be released early in 2018. – www.alabasterdeplume.com
